WWC Update

Congratulations to Casey Burgener and Donny Shankle for placing 25th and 31st, respectively, in the 105kg mens division this past weekend in Antalya. Also, in the supers, Patrick Judge and Colin Ito placed 13th and 25th, respectively.

Patrick Judge had the best finish of any male from the US in the WWC. He managed to set a new PR in the snatch with 173 and also the clean and jerk with 223kg.

Again, congratulations to representing the US in the World Weightlifting Championships in 2010!

Too old to squat?!?

Click to see a video of a 77 year old squatting 180kg. Pretty impressive to see a man of that age move that much weight, even if he doesn't break parallel! Best part is the end before he racks the bar. Turn up the volume to hear.

77kg Men at WWC

Congratulations to Chad Vaughn who placed 20th in the 77kg class earlier today.

Looks like China is going to be the team to beat in 2012 once again. They are consistently producing top lifters in various weight classes in both the mens and womens divisions. Maybe if we have 1,000,000 Olympic Weightlifters we could win a medal!? Just a thought...

I'd do a backflip too if I made a 14 kilo jump and set a world record!
